Jackson’s Hartebeest
Jackson’s Hartebeest has a particularly elongated forehead and oddly shaped horns, short neck, and pointed ears. Females are smaller than males, with similarly shaped horns. Horns can reach lengths of 45 to 70 cm. Apart from its long face, the large chest and the sharply sloping back differentiate the hartebeest from other antelopes.
´Hartebeests are sociable, and adult males are territorial. Small herds of 6 up to 25 females and young are the rule.
